Gladiator PvE: 15 of 21 points agreed by two or more sources

Agreed by two or more sources (15)
  • Lunge Stance is the key stigma and goes to 20.
  • Rage Burst sits at level 5 (only enough to enable Overhead Slam use); Wakayashi raises it to 20 in the no-Templar preset.
  • Zikel's Blessing is slotted for personal/party damage.
  • Focused Block at 5 (two blocks in a row) to trigger Experienced Counterstrike.
  • Overhead Slam is the main damage skill and the first one to push to 16 or higher.
  • Rending Blow is the second core skill, levelled to 16+ (also restores mana).
  • Ruinous Blow is the third high-level damage skill (16 in Grobs, 20 target in Wakayashi).
  • Keen Strike (basic attack) helps mana early; once mana holds, stop holding left-click and just use the macro.
  • Leaping Slam's reset-on-kill pick is for open-world farming.
  • Combat Speed is valued, through Daevanion board nodes.
  • Spend early points on skill-level nodes of the core attacks (Overhead Slam, Rending, Ruinous, Keen Strike) plus Combat Speed nodes.
  • Azphel (PvP board) is low priority for PvE; Grobs's 415-point plan leaves it empty.
  • Macro is built around Rage Burst feeding Overhead Slam, with Ruinous Blow and Rending Blow on the same key(s).
  • Experienced Counterstrike is the top passive.
  • Attack Preparation, Murderous Burst and Impact Hit follow as priority passives.

  • Focused Block at 5 (two blocks in a row) to trigger Experienced Counterstrike.
  • Fourth stigma slot choice. (Grobs: Focused Block in all setups; Wakayashi: Lifestealing Blade 15 when a Templar is in the party, Focused Block 5 only without one.)
  • Keep two stigma presets: one for parties with a Templar, one without.
  • Target level for the top three skills: Wakayashi aims for 20 each. (Grobs' mid-game build and Sen Evades list 16; this may be a difference in game stage rather than a disagreement.)
  • Keen Strike (basic attack) helps mana early; once mana holds, stop holding left-click and just use the macro.
  • Sword Aura Rampage: whether to invest in it. (Grobs takes it to 16 with the all-cooldowns pick; Wakayashi leaves it at 8.)
  • Leaping Slam's reset-on-kill pick is for open-world farming.

  • Always attack from the front; the buffs pay more on front attacks.

AION 2 Gladiator PvP build direction

  • Zikel's Blessing and Lunge Stance kept at max for both PvE and PvP (Korean server, which has 6 stigma slots and a level-25 cap).

Gladiator stigmas with and without a Templar

The fourth stigma slot is where the guides split. Grobs keeps Focused Block in every setup, which with two blocks in a row triggers the Experienced Counterstrike passive. Wakayashi keeps two presets: Lifestealing Blade when a Templar is in the party, and Focused Block only without one. Lunge Stance at 20 and Zikel's Blessing for damage are common to both; how high Zikel's Blessing goes differs.

Korean server Gladiator notes

Sources marked Korean server are not checked on the global version. Two sources say global allows four stigma slots (see AION 2 builds), fewer than the Korean server, so a Korean stigma list may not fit as it is.

AION 2 Gladiator build questions

What are the best skills for the Gladiator in AION 2?

Grobs, Wakayashi and Sen Evades agree on Overhead Slam as the main damage skill and the first to level to 16 or higher, followed by Rending Blow; Grobs and Wakayashi add Ruinous Blow as the third. Lunge Stance is the stigma all three take to level 20.

Can a Gladiator tank in AION 2?

All six class guides we compared call the Templar the dedicated tank. Some describe the Gladiator as an off-tank or front-line fighter with some durability (space4games, Fextralife, MMOEXP), but none of the build guides here builds it to tank.

Which is better in AION 2, Assassin or Gladiator?

Both are melee damage classes. ExpCarry rates the Gladiator easy to medium and the Assassin hard; the published tier lists put them anywhere from S to B. Compare them side by side on the classes page.

Is there an AION 2 Gladiator PvP build?

No global PvP Gladiator build was in our sources. The one PvP note is from a Korean server post, which keeps Zikel's Blessing and Lunge Stance at max; the Korean server has more stigma slots than global.
